Common Questions,
Honest Answers

We know water chemistry can be clear as mud. Here's exactly what you need to know about your home's water.

Why does my water smell like a swimming pool?

That's the chloramine. The City of Houston uses a mix of chlorine and ammonia to disinfect the water supply. It's great for killing bacteria in the pipes, but it tastes terrible and can dry out your skin. Our whole-house carbon filters remove it before it ever hits your shower.

Do I actually need a water softener in Houston?

Technically, you can live without one, but your house might not like it. Houston has 'hard' to 'very hard' water (usually 8-15 grains per gallon). Over time, that calcium builds up in your pipes, ruins water heaters, and leaves those stubborn white spots on your glass shower doors. A softener protects your investment.

What's the difference between a filter and a softener?

Think of them as a dynamic duo. A Filter cleans the water (removes chemicals, dirt, and smells). A Softener conditions the water (removes the hard minerals that cause scale). For the best results in Houston, most families use a combo system.

How much maintenance does a system require?

Very little! For a softener, you just need to keep the brine tank filled with salt (usually once every month or two). For filters, the media inside lasts for years. We also offer a 'set it and forget it' maintenance plan where we handle everything for you.

Will a system affect my water pressure?

Not if it's installed correctly. We size our systems based on your home's size and plumbing to ensure you get high flow rates. You should be able to run the shower and the washing machine at the same time without noticing a drop in pressure.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, we do! We believe everyone deserves clean water, so we offer flexible financing plans to fit different budgets. You can get a robust whole-home system for less than what many families spend on bottled water and Starbucks each month.

Still have questions?

We're happy to explain the science, test your water, or just chat about filters. No pressure, ever.
